Terms of Service

Effective date: September 18, 2026
Last updated: September 18, 2026

These terms govern use of Demure. Creating an account means agreeing to them.

The service

Demure is applicant tracking and recruiting CRM software provided over the internet. We license it to you for the term of your subscription. We do not sell you a copy of it.

Accounts

You must give accurate information and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us promptly at hello@demure.ai if you believe it has been compromised.

An account belongs to a firm. The first user is the owner and can invite others, set roles, and close the account.

Fees

Demure costs $79 per user, per month. A payment method is required at signup. There is no free trial.

Subscriptions renew automatically each month until cancelled. Adding a seat is charged pro rata for the current period. Removing a seat takes effect at the next renewal.

You may cancel at any time from account settings. Cancellation stops future charges. Fees already paid are not refunded except where the law requires, or where we have failed materially and not fixed it after notice.

We may change pricing with at least 30 days notice by email. Continuing after the change takes effect means accepting it. Founding customers keep their agreed rate for as long as the subscription runs without interruption.

Your data

You own your data. The candidate records, client records, notes, documents, and everything else your firm puts into Demure remain yours.

You grant us the limited licence needed to host, process, back up, and display it in order to provide the service. Nothing more.

You can export everything to CSV at any time, including after cancelling and before deletion. We do not hold data hostage and we do not charge for export.

You are responsible for having the right to put personal information into Demure, and for handling it lawfully. That includes telling candidates what you do with their data where the law requires it.

Acceptable use

Do not use Demure to send unsolicited bulk email in breach of applicable law, to store data you have no right to hold, to attempt to access another firm's data, to probe or disrupt the service, to resell access without a written agreement, or to break the law.

Sending is subject to fair use and to the policies of our delivery providers. We may suspend sending for an account generating excessive complaints or bounces, because that harms delivery for every customer.

Connected services

You may connect third party accounts such as Google. Those connections are optional and governed by the third party's own terms. You can disconnect at any time. We are not responsible for a third party changing or withdrawing its service.

Availability

We work to keep Demure available and will give advance notice of planned maintenance where we reasonably can. We do not promise uninterrupted service.

Suspension and termination

We may suspend or close an account for non-payment after notice, for a breach of acceptable use, or where required by law. Except where the law forbids it or the breach is severe, we will give you a chance to fix the problem first.

After closure, your data is retained for 30 days so you can export it, then permanently deleted.

Confidentiality

Each of us may learn confidential information about the other. Both of us will protect it and use it only to perform under these terms.

Warranties

Demure is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Demure is a tool for managing a hiring process. It does not give legal advice and does not make hiring decisions. You are responsible for your own employment law compliance.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, neither of us is liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profits or lost data.

Our total liability arising from these terms is limited to the fees you paid in the 12 months before the claim arose.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Changes

We may update these terms. For material changes we will give at least 30 days notice by email to account administrators. Continuing to use Demure after that means accepting the new terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict of law rules. Disputes go to the state or federal courts located there, and both of us consent to that jurisdiction.
